March 8- On the first day of the new semester, March 1st, GDUFS CPC Secretary Xu Zhenhua, GDUFS President Sui Guangjun and other officials groups went to inspect school affairs in both the north and south campuses. They also listened to the work reports regarding teaching, scientific research and party-building work during last semester.
In the morning, Mr. Xu Zhenhua listened to the work report from the School of Management. He recognized its achievements in brand majors establishment, excellent course application, and obtaining a national teaching patent. He was also impressed with their internship base and scientific research while maintaining a focus on introducing 2 new majors (Management of International Purchasing, and Internet Marketing). In response to the issue raised of lacking internship among seniors, he suggested that the internship period be extended proportionally.

Mr. Xu concluded that the key factor of a schools teaching assessment is whether it has spared no efforts to offer opportunities for the student's development. In doing this, he emphasized that primary goal of GDUFS is to cultivate international citizens of the highest caliber.

After his speech, Mr. Xu Zhenhua visited the School of Art and listened carefully to its work report in faculty building-up, student cultivation and future development. After listening to the schools efforts in helping students seek for jobs, he pointed out that the current top priority for the School of Art is to improve the faculty. As well, he also made some suggestions concerning the scale of every major in the school. Finally, he hoped that the school's young teachers can grasp every opportunity for further study, as well as ensuring that cheating on exams is eliminated.
In the meantime, President Sui Guangjun inspected the School of English for International Business along with a group of GDUFS officials. Accompanied by Deputy Dean of SEIB, he paid a visit to all the SEIB classes having lessons in NO.2 teaching building, and observed the students studies. Afterwards, Mr. Sui listened to a SEIB work report about the teaching order in the new semester. The work report touched on major development, hands-on activities, cooperation with outside and the future development of the school.

In his speech, Mr. Sui recognized SEIB for its efficient preparation for the new semester. He attached great importance to the work during this period of early spring because, as an old Chinese saying goes, spring is the most valuable period of time in a year". While praising the contribution SEIB has made to GDUFS development, Mr. Sui also undertook an analysis of the challenges facing SEIB and offered some possible solutions.

Other GDUFS officials who also participated in the inspection included: GDUFS Vice CPC Secretary, Chen Jianping, Xu Guobin and Jin Yaoguan, GDUFS Vice-President Fang Fanquan, Dong Xiaolin, Chen Zirui, Zhong Weihe, Liu Jianda, Shi Youqi and Chen Deping.
